Tigers Fall to Burris in Sectional

Yorktown put up a great fight in the first round of the Delta sectional yesterday, but fell 4-1 to Burris. Several matches were extended to three sets and all the matches were very competitive. Laura Avila won in straight sets at No. 1 singles to advance in the individual tournament. Great job Tigers!

Delta Tops Yorktown

Delta beat Yorktown 5-0 as the Eagles improved to 10-3. Kelly Crider edged Laura Avila at No. 1 singles for Delta.

Yorktown Places 6th

Seventh-ranked Indianapolis Cathedral won the Delta Invitational as the host Eagles finished fifth and Yorktown was sixth. Delta beat Fort Wayne Leo and Yorktown 5-0, but lost to Fort Wayne Carroll 4-1.

Delta Tennis Invite Saturday

Both Delta and Yorktown will be host sites for Saturday's eight-team Delta Invitational. The Tigers and Eagles will be the only two local teams in the event.

Tigers Defeat Mount Vernon!

Yorktown beat Mount Vernon 3-2. Daniela Ziemer and Emily McIntyre were victorious in singles play along with the doubles team of Samantha Smith and Kara Holtzclow.

Tigers Fall Short at Rushville

The Yorktown Tennis team put up a good fight against Rushville last night, but fell just short as Rushville won 3-2. Laura Avila won the No. 1 singles match in straight sets as did the No. 1 doubles team of Allison Harpinger and Kaleigh Andrews.

Susan Savariar won at No. 2 singles and Morgan Hicks won at No. 3 singles for Burris in a 4-1 victory over Yorktown. Laura Avila captured the lone Tiger victory at No. 1 singles.

Practice Starts

Yes there is snow on the ground, but that hasn't stopped the Tigers from starting practice for the coming season. Practice started after school on Monday, March 10th despite the cold weather. Check back often for updates and revisions to the team practice schedule.
